Application/Nomination Form

Thank you for your interest in Driven by Heart Scholarships! Please fill out the application/nomination form below to begin the application process. We recommend reading the project criteria on our home page before beginning. If you are nominating a student, fill out the form below, and we will contact them about submitting an essay. If you are a student applying for the scholarship, after filling out form below, please email your essay of 500-1,000 words to: drivenbyheartinfo@gmail.com. In your essay please describe the project* you are involved in, including what group of people, animals and/or natural area is it helping? How long have you been contributing to your project? Where is the location of the project and your role in it, including any leadership or recruitment responsibilities you might have? Most importantly, tell us why you are involved in your project and what have you learned from being a part of it?

*Some examples of local projects based in compassionate contribution:

  • Projects that help the homeless, like volunteering at a soup kitchen or shelter.
  • Helping out at your local animal humane society.
  • Working to restore parks and natural areas, such as trail repair and litter pick-up.
  • Helping elderly/disabled people/minorities/youth at risk, volunteering in some capacity.
  • Involvement at a donation center.
  • Volunteering at an animal rescue organization.
  • Neighborhood projects that help neighbors and/or wildlife/habitat.
  • Recycling/Repurposing/Reusing projects (these help the planet and therefore help everyone and everything!).
  • Volunteer firefighting.
